Penny - CPAA

Penny

Penny was pulled from a shelter in the Philadelphia area when they reached out and asked for CPAA and the HOPE Program to give her a chance.  During her time in the shelter, Penny was overwhelmed with all the commotion and would spend most of her days spinning in her kennel and drool due to fear, stress, and anxiety.  She was a volunteer favorite and knew that if she could just get out of the shelter, her life would change forever.

Penny went to live in a transitional foster home so that we could get to know her and help her decompress from the shelter stress.  She seemed to really blossom in the foster home and we knew that HOPE could really help Penny meet her full potential.  Penny can be slow to trust, but once she builds that bond with you, you'll always have her as a best friend!  We are still learning about what kind of dogs she enjoys being around, or if she would like to be an only pet, so please follow her journey below and be sure to share her page!

Penny is sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Animal Alliance, CPAA.  You can apply to adopt her here, https://www.centralpaanimalalliance.org/apply-to-adopt.

Penny is getting better with her new home. She still hasn’t played with some of the dogs here, but most! Penny’s newfound love is balls with a sound or a basketball to chew on and play with. Penny LOVES being outside running and playing.

Penny is doing well for her first week in a new environment. I’ve found that Penny likes to play tug very much. She also loves balls that have a sound coming out of it. She has run the fence with Booker and Shadow. She has had a meeting with all of the dogs – some better than others. Penny is a great dog once she lets her guard down!

Penny joined the HOPE Program today!  She spent two weeks in a foster home helping her get ready for her move into the BIG HOUSE, and we're all very excited to see how we can help her learn to trust new people and be the playful dog that we saw while in her foster home.

Jaida (formerly Potter) joined the HOPE Program on Friday 2/24/2023. She is approximately 7 years old and is sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Animal Alliance, CPAA. Jaida is joining the Program after she and her family worked REALLY hard to help her adjust to a new baby in the house. Unfortunately, she prefers the companionship of older kids (10 years and over) to that of an infant or toddler. Jaida has a HIGH PREY DRIVE and will give chase to small critters, so she shouldn’t live with cats, birds, guinea pigs, etc. The smaller and squeakier, the more interested Jaida gets! She and her family put in a lot of time and work, so she’s already a very well behaved girl. She loves going for walks and hikes, but prefers not to be bombarded by off leash dogs. After all, she’s a well mannered gal and expects her friends to be the same! Jaida is also muzzle trained for trips to the vet and groomers too! If you're interested in adopting Jaida, please review her future home requirements, and if you think your home would suit her needs, click that "Apply to Adopt Jaida" button below! -Jaida NEEDS to be an ONLY PET , as she has a HIGH PREY DRIVE and does like dogs in her face -Jaida will NOT be adopted into a home with kids under the age of 10 -Jaida loves going for walks, so while a fenced yard is great, she'd like a family to take her on hikes and adventures -Jaida would also prefer a calm and quiet home , not one with a lot of guests or busy activities. Jaida is sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Animal Alliance and her adoption fee is $300.
